Today at Robbinsdale, our students showed what it truly means to work together! Our April Community Day focused on teamwork, and the building was filled with energy, laughter, and collaboration.
Students participated in a variety of cooperative games, practicing communication, encouragement, and problem-solving with their peers. From learning and playing Chuck the Chicken to the classic Red Rover, every activity was designed with one goal in mind—getting ALL students involved and working as a team.
It was incredible to see students supporting one another, including everyone, and celebrating shared success. 💫
At Robbinsdale, we believe that when we build strong teams, we build strong leaders. Today was a perfect example of that in action!

Reminder: Spring Break 🌸
Spring Break will run from March 30th through April 6th. We hope everyone enjoys a safe and relaxing break!
We look forward to welcoming students back on April 7th. See you then! 😊

This is a great opportunity for incoming kindergarten families to explore resources, meet staff, and learn how to support your child’s successful start to school across the RCAS district. We can’t wait to welcome you!

Today our students spent Community Day learning about diversity, inclusion, and perspective-taking while celebrating what makes each person unique.
Classrooms began with thoughtful read-alouds that focused on understanding others, appreciating different perspectives, and building a strong, respectful community.
Students then created Ledger Art, decorating a silhouette on a book page to represent what makes them unique and special. The creativity and individuality in each piece was incredible to see, and the activity sparked great conversations about identity and belonging.
Students also enjoyed a small treat of iced tea and Oreos, with gluten-free options available so everyone could participate. If extra time allowed, classrooms wrapped up the day with partner reading or coloring bookmarks.
It was a meaningful day of reflection, creativity, and community—reminding us that our differences help make Robbinsdale a stronger place to learn and grow. 💙

This terrific team braved the icy waters at the 2026 Polar Plunge and they absolutely ROCKED it for a great cause!
Together, these rockstars raised an amazing $6,556 in support of Special Olympics South Dakota. Their courage (and willingness to get a little chilly!) helps provide opportunities and life-changing experiences for athletes across our state.
We are so proud of our team for stepping up, diving in, and showing what it means to lead by example. Way to go, Roadrunners!

We had a fantastic turnout at Future Cobbler Night! It was so fun to look up into the stands and see so many of our Future Cobblers showing their spirit and cheering alongside the community at Rapid City Central High School.
Several Roadrunner staff members joined in the fun as well, proudly supporting our students and celebrating this special night together. We hope everyone enjoyed the exciting basketball games, the energy of the cheerleaders, and the awesome sounds of the band!
One of the most memorable moments was watching the senior basketball players be recognized for Senior Night. Our elementary students got a glimpse of that milestone—and a reminder that one day, that will be them.
A big congratulations to one of our very own Roadrunners, Enza, who was the lucky winner of a Nintendo Switch! Way to go, Inza—we hope you’re already having fun with it!
The future is bright, and it’s filled with Cobbler pride!

Our students spent Community Day focusing on healthy bodies and healthy hearts!
🍓 Heart-Healthy Snack Time
Students created their own fruit kabobs using bananas, grapes, and strawberries—taking their time to cut, build, and enjoy a snack that fuels their bodies and builds independence. Learning happens best when we slow down and savor it!
🎨 Heart Art & Positive Affirmations
Students designed tear-art hearts and paired them with powerful affirmations like “I can do hard things” and “I can keep going even when it’s challenging.” These meaningful creations will be displayed in our building during conferences as a reminder of the strength, resilience, and positivity our students carry with them every day.
We loved seeing creativity, collaboration, and confidence shining throughout the building. 💕
Community + wellness = a strong school heart!
This week (Feb. 2–6), we’re celebrating our amazing school counselor, Ms. Caylan Hadley, and the incredible impact she has on our students every day. From supporting big feelings to cheering on successes, she truly is a real-life superhero!
Thank you, Ms. Hadley, for amplifying our success and making our school a better place for every student.

Today’s Community Day assembly was full of energy, laughter, and powerful learning as students explored what it means to flip their pancakes—shifting from negative thinking to a positive, growth mindset. We were thrilled to have Nugget from the Rapid City Rush, Karl the Cobbler from Central, and Robby the Roadrunner join us as active participants, modeling how even our mascots can pause, reframe, and choose a better way to think.
After some team-building to kick things off, students created a “reframe” picture frame, writing negative thoughts on one side and flipping them to positive, empowering words on the other. They also illustrated real-life situations, showing how a change in perspective can make a big difference. Back in classrooms, each student received a pancake sticker—a simple reminder that we always have the power to flip our thinking.
What a joyful way to build community, strengthen SEL skills, and remind our students that mindset matters. 💛
